Week 6: Urban Natures Explorers- Tiny Engineers, Insects & Soil (GR. K-2)

This hands-on summer course invites kids to explore insects, decomposers, and soil health through fun, outdoor activities. Students investigate worms, beetles, and fungi, create mini compost bottles, build simple bug hotels, and play insect-inspired movement games.

Along the way, children learn about the cultural importance of insects in African and Indigenous traditions while building curiosity, creativity, and a deeper connection to the natural world.
