Just as you have blood that flows through vessels, you have energy that flows through pathways called meridians. Acupressure involves pressing or massaging key points on the body to stimulate energy flow which can offer great relief with no side effects. We will focus on the points that relieve and prevent migraines and headaches as well as nausea and vertigo.
  • Adult Conversational Spanish: Beginner Part 1

    This is an online class and will be held through Futura's Zoom account. An email with login information will be sent prior to class. Be sure you have a current email on file with us. Always dreamed of learning Spanish or refreshing your high school Spanish? Then this class is for you! The primary focus of the class will be on building conversational tools in Spanish through interactive practice and exercises. Vocabulary topics will include common greetings and introductions, pronunciation, numbers, food, clothing, likes and dislikes. Grammar topics will include subject pronouns, the verb estar conjugation, gender of nouns, and plurality. Participants will learn how to carry on small conversations in Spanish and each class will include interesting cultural anecdotes including Spanish word origin, dialect differences, and names in Spanish. *Ability to access zoom and basic working computer knowledge essential.

Intermediate Spanish is specifically designed for the adult learner who has taken some Spanish in the past but wishes to improve conversational skills. Grammar and vocabulary concepts will include present tense AR verb conjugation, infinitive verbs, future tense with the verb IR, adverbs of frequency, useful prepositions, and more. Participants will practice conversation skills including learning how to make plans and discussing preferences in Spanish. Culture discussions will cover holiday traditions and celebrations in Spanish speaking countries. Like all Futura classes, a dynamic interactive approach will be used to keep the class fun and exciting! Applicable to new students and previous Beginner Spanish Part 1 and 2 conversation participants. Ability to access zoom and basic working computer knowledge required.

This exciting game is played on a court similar to a tennis court, where players use paddles, slightly larger than a ping-pong paddle, to hit a wiffle ball.   • Advanced Home Electrical II

    Continue learning by attending this hands-on class. You will install single pole and 3-way switches, outlets and light fixtures to energize a light bulb and test the circuit. We will discuss lamp repair & proper installation of light fixtures and ceiling fans. Please bring your wire stripper, straight & Phillips screwdriver, and long-nose pliers if you have them. Handouts will be provided.

    We will paint fall trees, landscapes, and garden harvests. The first class will be on basics: papers, brushes, and color mixing techniques. The next three sessions we will talk about sketching in, composition, and mixing colors for a fall palette.     Discover the beauty and grace of Middle Eastern Dance, commonly called Belly Dance. This is more than an exercise class. Belly Dance is an exciting way to improve fitness, tone and flexibility. This class is for beginners and the more experienced students looking to improve the basic techniques and movements. Previous dance experience is not necessary. All ages and sizes are welcome. *Wear comfortable, fitted clothing so your movements can be seen. Hip scarves are encouraged and welcome. If you have zills and a veil, bring them too!     Have you ever caught sight of your reflection in a window or mirror to see that your head leads the way? Or noticed that your shoulders and upper back are too rounded forward? You’ll learn simple techniques to improve posture and stand straighter. We’ll do exercises to help flatten the upper back, un-round shoulders and flatten your midsection. Learn how to reduce the risk of osteoporosis and how to re-gain bone mass. We’ll discuss the latest research findings on nutrition, minerals and trace minerals needed for bone health; foods that help and/or harm your bones and more. Wear loose, comfortable clothing. You will need a resistance band for some of the exercises.
