  • Autumn Painting Splendor

    We will paint fall trees, landscapes, and garden harvests. The first class will be on basics: papers, brushes, and color mixing techniques. The next three sessions we will talk about sketching in, composition, and mixing colors for a fall palette. Students will be able to complete two paintings. *A $35 supply fee will need to be paid to the instructor the first night of class.

    Students will learn how to make italic calligraphy for many uses. Instructor will have ornaments, name tags and other uses. Students will be able to bring home several items that have calligraphy. *A $25 supply fee will need to be paid to the instructor the first night of class. This will cover the calligraphy pens you will be using.

  • Cricut Design Space 101

    Have a Cricut machine but not sure how it works? Come learn the essential functions of this popular cutting tool. Leave class with a simple paper and vinyl project as well as the basic knowledge to start creating custom, professional-looking paper crafts embellished apparel, home décor, and more. $10 supply fee paid to instructor. Bring supplies: Cricut machine, standard mat, accessories, and laptop with Cricut Design Space downloaded, if you have them. Otherwise, you can learn through instructor demonstration.
  • Crochet for Beginners

    No experience is needed! The instructor will teach starter skills (holding your hook, make a chain, and simple stitches). You’ll also cover yarn basics, crochet tools, popular terms and how to read simple patterns. *Note: The class will work toward making washcloths and coasters. Everyone learns at a different pace, so extra practice may be needed to fully master the skills and complete the projects.
  • Crushed Glass Sun Catcher

    Bring a little sparkle into your home with a one-of-a-kind sun catcher! In this hands-on workshop, you’ll design and fill a wooden sun catcher frame using colorful crushed glass pieces. Once your design is complete, you’ll use resin to seal the glass in place. A box will be provided to safely transport your finished artwork home. Choose from a pumpkin, sunflower, Santa, bird, or dragonfly.
  • DIY Woodworking

    Is there a woodworking project you would like to make but do not have the equipment? Want someone who could guide you through some steps in the project? Join our woodshop class and learn how woodworking machines operate. Construct an Adirondack chair, little yard library, or a project of your own! Wood will not be provided. Your instructor will help you make a material list for the project of your choice. *Bring an electric/battery hand drill; wood supplies will be discussed with you the first night of class depending on the project you choose. *Ages 14+ welcome: participants under 18 need to be accompanied by an enrolled adult. *Wood and supplies are NOT included. The instructor will work with you and supply lists needed on the first night of class.

    Hobby Group: Sumi-e Japanese Brush Painting

    Sumi-e Club Meet with others who share your passion, or learn a new skill! All abilities welcome. This group is self-directed, but members are willing to help new comers get started! Bring your own supplies. There is no class fee to participate but there is a $19 annual fee per person. Stop by the Adult Enrichment office at 305 Willow Bend in Crystal or call 763-504-6990 to join a Hobby Group. Sumi-e Japanese Brush Painting Explore the ancient practice of Japanese Sumi-e, a unique style of black-ink brush painting on paper. Join other Sumi-e painting enthusiasts and practitioners for a morning of painting and calligraphy, sharing techniques and learning from one another. The Sumi-e group welcomes both those with experience in Sumi-e ink painting as well as beginners. For beginners we provide instructions and materials for use in class, to get started. Join us to develop your brush painting skills, and experience the peaceful and elegant art forms of Japanese calligraphy and Sumi-e painting.

  • Intermediate Crochet

    This six week intermediate crochet class is designed for those comfortable with the basics. You'll learn techniques like post and shell stitches plus deep dive into topics like gauge and yarn fiber uses. There will be a guided project making a mesh tote bag and time to bring your own project to get help from the instructor. Supplies needed for class: 1. Worsted weight yarn (4 weight). Photo sample uses less than 170 grams of Big Twist Value Acrylic - in a variety of colors. Instructor sample is acrylic but a cotton or cotton blend will hold the shape better over time and stretch less. 2. Hook appropriate for your yarn. This is flexible. Instructor sample is approximately 12"" x 12"" (w/o handles) using a 5 mm hook and 4 weight yarn. A smaller or larger hook will change the final size. 3.   • Kick Wheel Pottery

    Learn to make pottery on a kick wheel! Beginning students receive an introduction to basic pottery techniques: wedging, centering, throwing, trimming, and glazing. Experienced students are welcome to join as well and will have dedicated time to work on projects or practice new skills! Grab a friend and join the fun! *The final night of each session is a 30 minute project pickup from 6:30-7:00.

    Learn the fundamentals of hand lettering in this 2hr workshop led by lettering artist and designer, Dana Christopherson. You will learn skills to make lettering easier and create a fully hand lettered poster through a step-by-step tutorial. The finished piece will be on an 8"x10" sheet of paper. All supplies are included, no experience necessary!

  • Paint like Bob Ross- Woodland Path

    Immerse yourself in the painted beauty of a woodland path. Bob Ross taught a technique that shows anyone can paint. This class will take you step by step through the painting process to a completed painting you will be proud to display in your home. The class is 4 hours long but most will be done in about 2 1/2 hours. All abilities are welcome! All supplies are provided. At the end of the class, you will leave with a completed 12x16 oil painting. *Open to anyone ages 9+ (with accompanied adult). *No experience needed.   • Quilt Block Table Runner

    New to machine quilting? Start your journey by making a unique table runner that shows off your creative side. Choose from a variety of quilt block styles, then piece together fun fabric colors and patterns to create eight blocks that you'll join using a sashing technique. **Basic sewing machine skills required. $25 supply fee paid to instructor at the first class.     Learn the basics of making a t-shirt quilt - from stabilizing the t-shirts, to cutting them apart and sewing the blocks into a 72”x90” quilt top. Leave class with a unique, individualized quilt for yourself or a loved one. A $15 supply fee needs to be paid to your instructor the day of class. *Basic sewing skills required. Bring your own sewing machine and supplies listed online.
