Week 8: Urban Nature Explorers- Art of the Earth, Creativity with Natural Materials
This summer, students will explore the outdoors through art, storytelling, and creative expression. Kids will build land art sculptures inspired by BIPOC eco-artists, create “story stones” using paints made from plants and soil, and make textured collages from leaves, bark, and grasses.
Through nature sound mapping and cultural stories about creativity, children will connect with the natural world, develop observation skills, and express themselves in unique, hands-on ways—turning summer days into imaginative outdoor adventures.
